Getting to Loch Lomond
 
 

The conservation village of Luss is situated on the western banks of Loch Lomond in Scotland and is approximately 35 minutes drive from Glasgow.

 
Directions by car

Coming from Carlisle and the Scottish Borders, travel up the A74 - M74 and then briefly onto the M73. On the M73, take the junction signposted for Glasgow onto the M8. Coming from Edinburgh or east central Scotland, Stay on the M8.

 

Travel along the M8 over the Kingston Bridge, past Glasgow Airport and leave the motorway at junction 30, signposted for Loch Lomond, onto the M898.

 

Cross over Erskine Bridge and take the left slip road for Crianlarich.

You will now be on the A82 dual carriageway, approximately 20 minutes away from Luss. Stay on the A82 following the signs for Loch Lomond, going straight ahead through all the roundabouts you encounter. After the third roundabout, the road reverts to two-way traffic and at this point you have reached the southern bank of Loch Lomond.

 
For Millburn Cottages

Still following the A82 with the Loch now visible on your right, travel past the Loch Lomond golf course. Do not turn off for Luss, you should continue on the Luss by pass. On the left will be the Thistle Bagpipe and Kilt Makers and then two white farmhouses. A couple of hundred yards further on is a bus stop. The entrance to Millburn Cottages is adjacent to the bus stop.

 
For River Cottage

Still following the A82 with the Loch now visible on your right, travel past Loch Lomond golf course and take the turn-off for Luss. Head into the village and turn right at the Colquhoun Arms Hotel. Approximately 150 yards along, turn right into the one-way system. River Cottage is 100 yards on the right, before the road takes a left turn.
